There will be a flag raising in the Rotary Park at 4:00 p.m. on June 1st.  All are welcome.

WHEREAS Pride month is celebrated every June world-wide to commemorate eventful
moments in the fight for equitable and inclusive spaces, laws and policies for LGBTQ2+
individuals; and

WHEREAS Pride month further raises awareness of LGBTQ2+ lived-experiences and promotes
the visibility of LGBTQ2+ people; and

WHEREAS Pride month raises awareness and understanding of the LGBTQ2+ community
while promoting equity, inclusivity and greater acceptance of diversity.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT, on behalf of the Corporation of the Township of
Nipigon, I, Mayor Suzanne Kukko, do hereby proclaim the month of June, 2023 as Pride Month
in the Township of Nipigon.
