Council Members

The Council of the Township of Nipigon consists of a Mayor and four council members. Municipal Councils serve a 4-year term as per the Municipal Elections Act.

Council provides direction for municipal operations, with policy-making being a key responsibility. Council objectives are to ensure that the municipality’s financial and administrative resources are being used as efficiently as possible. Generally, Council monitors the implementation of its approved policies and programs, but the practical aspects of implementation are a staff responsibility.

Individuals who submit written correspondence or information to the Township should be aware that any personal information contained in their communications may become part of the public record and made available to the public through the Council Agenda process or that of a committee of Council or a local board.
